MT2
is a small size low power stand-alone control
device which can control both two bipolar
and two unipolar stepper motors (i.e. 8 and
4 lead motors, and 6 lead center tapped motors)
and their respective limit/home detection
sensors (one for each axis, with programmable
polarity).
This
device was designed to manage high precision
single plane x-y positioning systems.
Although
MT2 was conceived mainly to control finite
rotation movements, it can also work with
direct cycle motors and, for exemplum, it
can also be used as speed control device.

Technical
Specifications
MT2
is managed by serial interface
with a dedicated protocol. It is possible
to set out the motor rotation speed (from
35 up to 1000 half-step/second
or from 3,5 up to 100
half-step/second, depending on the selected
model of MT2). The rotation speed
is not linearly reached: acceleration and
deceleration follow a profile optimizing the
motor supplied couple.
The
card has small dimensions
and can be connected directly
to stepper motors with nominal current up
to 0,6A. A power buffer can be integrate for
higher currents.
One input for limit/home detection
per axis is provided
Input voltage: 7 - 15 V DC
(unregulated).
Current consumption: 60 mA
@ 12 V DC (plus motor and light source consumption).
Output current: max 0,6A/ph
(1,2A of peak).
Size:
80 x 60 x 15 mm (about
2,36 x 3,15 x 0,59 inch).
